Q. Do you have any local, Dedicated or regional work?
A. Since we provide service to over two-thirds of the Fortune 500 companies, we have many different opportunities for truck drivers, no matter what your level of driver experience. Q. What type of equipment will I be driving?
A. Most of our fleet is Freightliner® Century series conventional tractors. The engines are Detroit Diesel 60 series with mostly 10-speed transmissions. The tractors have air conditioning and cruise control, and the sleepers are full sized, most are condos (high roof) and equipped with Webasto cab heaters.
Our tractors are equipped with satellite communications. Work assignments and directions are sent directly to the truck via satellite. You can also use the satellite to communicate via e-mail with family and friends (see our touchHOME program).
Q. What type of benefits do you have?
A. We offer low-cost medical and dental insurance with free vision and life. All are available with single and family coverage. Experienced drivers are eligible immediately. See Pay and Benefits for more information.
Q. How much unloading is there?
A. The majority of our freight is no-touch, but it depends on which division and account you are part of. Team drivers enjoy 98 percent drop-and-hook (drop load and pick up preloaded trailer).
Q. How can I take advantage of the Passenger Program?
A. Drivers can take someone over-the-road (OTR) immediately as long as he or she has at least three years of experience with no preventable accidents in the last twelve months and an overall acceptable performance. If the driver does not meet the above criteria, he or she would be eligible for the Passenger Program after completing six months of safe driving with Schneider. Driver are able to drive with up to six different passengers per year (one at a time) as often as he or she would like. Relatives under the age of 18 years old can only be a passenger after completing 6 months of employment with Schneider National.

All Schneider company trucks are equipped with Webasto in-cab heaters, because of all the exceptional comforts the units provide, and the cost savings the heater delivers on fuel and engine wear. These are real savings owner-operators like you appreciate. That’s why we’ve negotiated a highly attractive deal with Webasto to provide you with Webasto in-cab heaters for substantially less.
The Air Top 2000 in-cab heater is your for only $875*, plus installation. We also have available to you the Webasto TSL 17 of $945*, plus installation. You can install a digital timer of the TSL 17 to program the pre-heater at an additional cost.
The cost of idling is roughly $4,300 a year for fuel and engine wear. With a Webasto heater in your truck, your estimated cost savings are $2,800 for the first year, and $4,000 every year after that. An engine typically burns one gallon of fuel per hour when idling. The Webasto heater, however uses approximately 7/100th of a gallon per hour.

A. Webasto heaters operate quietly and efficiently. If it were not for the warm and comforting heat you will feel in your cab, you would not even know it’s on.

A. No
Q. Where do I go to get the heater installed?
A. You can go to any on of our 12 major operating centers to get you Webasto heater installed. The operating centers are in: Akron, Charlotte, Dallas, Des Moines, Fontana, Chicago, Green Bay, Harrisburg, Indianapolis, Portland and Memphis.
Q. How long does it take to install a heater?
A. It takes approximately three hours to install a Webasto heater.
Q. Is there an installation charge?
A. Approximately $200-$350
Q. Does it have a cooling function?

Turbo 3000
The Turbo-3000D VADA is a new “clean burn” after-market fuel device for diesel engines to improve fuel economy and enhance engine performance. It also reduces carbon deposits, stack soot, black smoke and toxic emissions.
